We support communities, housing authorities and non-profit housing organizations in their efforts to create affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families.
We provide a variety of resources related to affordable housing planning and development including but not limited to:
Drafting Request for Proposals and
assisting with developer selection
Helping communities zone for increased density
Assessing site feasibility and providing other pre-development
activities
Providing asset management education and assistance
Planning and assessing housing needs
We can award small grants, engage consultants, and provide staff time to assist with any topics listed on our Technical Assistance page.
We also produce publications and
conducts workshops to explain the affordable housing development process,
navigate the associated rules and regulations, and provide guidance on state/local
resources available to communities. Visit
our
Publications and Materials page to learn more about our latest guidebooks and trainings.
In an effort to provide communities the most up-to-date
information about policy issues at the state level, community assistance also engages in special initiatives with a variety of partner
agencies. Visit our
Special Initiatives pagefor more information
about recent initiatives we’ve engaged in and research we’ve conducted.
