On Dec. 19, 2017, MHP Executive Director Clark Ziegler testified before the Joint Committee on Housing regarding various legislative proposals to amend Ch. 40B. Ziegler testified that "the need for zoning mechanism like Chapter 40B is greater than ever" and urged the committee to reject legislation that would weaken its effectiveness.

The Administration’s Housing Choice Initiative creates a new system of incentives and rewards for municipalities that deliver sustainable housing growth. The initiative also proposes legislative changes, through An Act to Promote Housing Choices, to deliver smart, effective zoning at the local level.
