In response to the COVID-19 health emergency, Undersecretary Jennifer Maddox issued guidelines on April 3 stating that the Department of Housing and Community Development expects that all multifamily rental property owners who receive financial assistance from DHCD or one of its affiliates should refrain from raising rents for 120 days that might be otherwise permitted due to the release of revised income and rents figures released by the federal government on April 1.
