BOSTON -- After 14 months of work, MHP is thrilled that “Building for Tomorrow: A report from the Unlocking Housing Production Commission” was released last week. This report, authored by experts across various fields, is the next step in increasing the supply of housing and lowering costs for residents of the Commonwealth.

BOSTON --- The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) released its decision yesterday in Attorney General v. Town of Milton. The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is pleased that the SJC upheld the MBTA Communities Act as constitutional, affirmed the Attorney General’s power to enforce it, and clarified that compliance with the law is mandatory. The law advances MHP’s mission of expanding access to affordable housing and promoting housing equity in the Commonwealth by requiring 177 communities to create reasonably sized districts in which multifamily housing is permitted as of right.

BOSTON --- MHP Senior Counsel, Procurements and Contracts Jameel Moore has been honored with a Top Women of Law Award from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. Moore and other honorees were recognized at an awards celebration at the Hynes Convention Center. Top Women of Law honors outstanding achievements of exceptional women. Each year, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly honors attorneys from across the spectrum of the legal profession.

Boston ---The Healey-Driscoll Administration today announced the third round of funding awards under the Climate Ready Housing program. The program is led by the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, in collaboration with Massachusetts Housing Partnership, MassHousing, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation Massachusetts (LISC MA). Third Round of Climate Ready Housing Funding Awards Will Support Deep Energy Retrofits and Cost Savings in nearly 1,000 Affordable Housing Homes.

This is the fourth edition of the Housing Stability Monitor and will explore data through September 2024.
