NORWOOD --- In an attempt to gain further control over Ch. 40B development proposals, the town's 1.5 Percent Task Force has identified 13 properties that the town could purchase that would push its amount of buildable land above 1.5 percent. Towns gain greater control over Ch. 40B by either having 10 percent of its housing affordable or having affordable housing on 1.5 percent of its buildable land. Norwood is at 1.496 percent. Twelve of the 13 properties are near wetlands, the task force said.
