BOSTON --- MHP is kicking off the new year by announcing a new workshop and a reminder that its Trust & CPA conference will resume with two more sessions on how to use local funds for affordable housing.
Local Initiative Program workshop
What: Since its establishment 30 years ago, the Local Initiatives Program (LIP) has provided cities and towns an effective way to collaborate with private and non-profit developers to create thousand of affordable homes. This session will provide an overview of the LIP 40B and Local Action Unit programs, including local perspectives on how they have been used to contribute to the Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI).
When: Wed., Feb. 24, 2021, 12-1:15 p.m.
Who: Municipal volunteers, municipal staff, local officials, nonprofits, and developers from across the Commonwealth.

Trust/CPA conference wraps up; video, resources online
MHP just completed its four-part virtual conference on how to use local funds to support affordable housing. The workshops focused on how to use Community Preservation Act funds and Municipal Affordable Housing Trusts, which are often funded with CPA funds.
