Virtual workshop on using local funds for short-term rental assistance

BOSTON --- MHP and the Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) will hold a virtual training on using local funds for emergency rental assistance on Wednesday, April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The event will include:

  • Executive Director Stuart Saginor of the Community Preservation Coalition
  • CHAPA Director of Public Policy Eric Shupin
  • Executive Director Jennifer Van Campen of the Metro West Collaborative 
  • MHP Senior Program Manager Shelly Goehring.

Goehring was lead author of MHP guidelines and checklist on using local funds for emergency rental assistance. Published on April 1, MHP has fielded over 20 inquiries from communities exploring how to set up a program. One of those communities, Waltham, OK'd the use of $1 million in CPA funds for housing assistance on April 13.
