The training will focus on the Community Preservation Act and Municipal Affordable Housing Trusts, two of the most important tools communities use to support affordable housing. It is geared toward members of local affordable housing trusts and members of Community Preservation Committees (CPCs) and the staff that supports trusts and CPCs. We anticipate that the event will feature the same line-up of speakers, with perhaps some small changes. The agenda will include:
- Affordable housing nuts & bolts by MHP Director of Lending David Rockwell.
- Balancing development pressures by Kristin Carlson, director of real estate development at Harborlight Community Partners.
- How communities support affordable housing, featuring local leaders from Brewster, Medway and Salem.
- We will also provide examples and best practices involving of trusts and CPCs working together.
