BOSTON, June 16, 2015 --- Northampton and Duxbury are the latest communities to join MassDocs, the state's online loan closing document system.
Launched in 2006, MassDocs makes affordable housing development more efficient by providing a common set of loan documents for affordable housing developments using a variety of state and local funds.
This makes it possible to have just one closing attorney for developments with multiple funders, thus saving time and money.
Northampton and Duxbury are the fourth and fifth communities in the past year to agree to funnel its local funds into affordable housing developments through MassDocs. Westford, Provincetown and Holyoke have also recently joined MassDocs .
Forty-three communities or loan consortiums now belong to MassDocs. To learn more, check out the MassDocsweb site or email massdocs@mhp.net.
